New Exam Name

The National Board of Podiatric Medical Examiners has changed the name—but not the design—of its licensing examination series. The tests remain unchanged in every aspect of content, competencies measured, and scoring methodology. However, what had been known as NBPME Parts I, II, and III will now be designated as the American Podiatric Medical Licensing Examination (APMLE) Parts I, II, and III. The NBPME remains as the parent organization that owns and is responsible for production and scoring of each test in the series.
